THE STORY OF THE DCGMA

In 2016, North Decatur band director Jacob Crosley contacted SDHS & GCHS band directors Noah Leininger and Jeff Maupin to see if they were interested in creating a county-wide marching band.

His counterparts supported the idea, so with help from Chris Crowder, Adam Ruble and Andre Williams, they found 45 band students willing to participate. The group went on to State Fair Band Day, finishing in the top 16. Since the band's creation, they have been in the Top 16 Night Show 7 times.

The Decatur County Greensburg Marching Band is a non-profit organization that supports student learning and promotes musical excellence in the marching arts. Through hard work and dedication, students in the DCGMA groups have earned a prestigious reputation in both the Indiana Percussion Circuit and Central Indiana Track Show Association. Students in the DCGMB comprise the most talented and invested musicians in the Greensburg area. This year, catch the DCGMB participating in Midstates - a Fall marching band circut.
